How to Make your Everhot cooker More Energy-Efficient

Let’s look at some simple ways to make your Everhot as efficient as possible - helping you save money on your energy costs.

Owning an Everhot cooker is already a big step toward a more energy-conscious kitchen. It’s built for efficiency, designed to hold its heat, and far cheaper to run than most traditional range cookers. But you can take things even further. With a few smart habits and a bit of know-how, you can cut running costs and make your Everhot work even harder for you.

Let’s look at some simple ways to make your Everhot as efficient as possible - helping you save money on your energy costs.

Get to Know your Warm-up Cycles

One of the things that makes the Everhot such a clever cooker is how quickly it gets going. Most models take just a few hours to reach full temperature - which means you can plan your cooking around it instead of leaving it running all day.

Each Everhot includes an Oven Delay Timer, allowing you to decide exactly when the hotplates and ovens warm up. The standard setup gives you about a three-hour gap between the hotplates heating in the morning and the ovens reaching temperature later. But you can delay that for up to 12 hours - ideal if you mostly cook in the evenings.

A bit of planning goes a long way here. If you know you’ll be cooking dinner at 7pm, set your ovens to start heating in the late afternoon. That way, they’re ready when you are - no wasted energy sitting idle.

You can also make the most of residual heat once you’ve finished cooking. Try using that leftover warmth for slow-cooked dishes, bread proving, or even warming plates. It’s all energy you’ve already paid for.

Use Independent Controls Wisely

Every Everhot comes with independent controls for each oven and hotplate. It’s one of the features that makes these cookers so versatile.

If you’re just preparing a quick breakfast, you don’t need the entire cooker blazing away. Switch on only the hotplate or oven you need and leave the rest off. Over the course of a week, those small decisions really add up.

This flexibility is also handy if you’re batch cooking. Run the top oven for roasts, keep the bottom oven for gentle baking, or use a single plate for soups and sauces. By tailoring which parts of the cooker are in use, you stay in full control of your energy use.

Try Smart Grilling

Even when your Everhot’s top oven is turned down low, the independent 2.4kW grill is always ready to go. It heats up quickly and is ideal for finishing dishes, crisping up toppings, or cooking something simple when you don’t want to fire up the whole oven.

Because the Everhot grill operates with the door closed, it’s also handy for boosting your top oven temperature in a hurry - a quick way to get back up to your preferred cooking setting without using extra energy unnecessarily.

Utilise the Induction Hob

Many people choosing an Everhot today go for one of the ‘i’ models with a built-in induction hob. It’s the best of both worlds - gentle radiant heat from the hotplates when you want it, and instant, controllable cooking when you need it.

The induction hob sits neatly under a lid on the top of the cooker, giving you extra cooking capacity without taking up counter space. You can turn the traditional hotplate down or off completely and cook using induction instead - perfect for summer months or quick weekday meals.

Induction cooking is fast, precise, and highly energy-efficient, which makes it an ideal companion to the Everhot’s steady warmth.

Master the ECO Mode

If you want to see real savings, the ECO function is your best friend. This clever feature lowers the cooker's temperature during quieter times, such as overnight or when the kitchen’s already warm.

Activating ECO mode can reduce your Everhot’s energy use by roughly 20%, cutting typical running costs to as little as £15 a week depending on your usage. It’s one of the main reasons Everhot models outperform many other range cookers on efficiency.

You can switch ECO mode on manually whenever you like, or use the Auto (Timed) setting to programme it. That means your Everhot automatically drops to lower temperatures overnight or during the day when you’re out - then warms up again ready for cooking.

Here's a glance at the weekly power consumption across the Everhot range when utilising ECO mode overnight:

everhot power

Setting your Ideal ECO Temperatures

Every Everhot arrives with default temperature settings - around 220°C for the top oven, 100°C for the bottom oven, and 290°C for the boiling plate. When ECO mode is active, those temperatures drop roughly in half, saving power while still keeping the cooker gently warm.

You can fine-tune all these settings in five-degree increments to suit your routine. For instance, if you like to cook later in the evening, you might schedule ECO mode to activate after 10pm instead of 9pm.

Here’s a handy starting point many owners find works well:

  • Boiling Plate: 150°C

  • Simmering Plate: 100°C

  • Top Oven: 120°C

  • Bottom Oven: 50°C

  • Additional Oven (on 120i/150i models): 50°C

From there, you can adjust things as you go - every kitchen is different, and part of the fun is learning what suits yours best.

Make the Most of the Timer and Indicator Lights

Everhot’s digital control box makes managing energy use incredibly simple. The ECO button comes with a clear LED indicator showing which mode you’re in:

  • Off – Normal temperatures for full cooking performance.

  • On – Permanent ECO mode, keeping things at lower levels.

  • Flashing – Auto (Timed) ECO mode, meaning it’s following your schedule.

If you see “ECO” flashing on the display every few seconds, that’s your reminder that your cooker is quietly saving energy in the background.

What’s more, if you know you won’t be using your Everhot on a particular day, the Skip Function lets you temporarily bypass your cooker’s normal schedule.

Instead of warming up as usual, it stays in its ECO settings, quietly conserving energy until you’re ready to use it again. It’s a simple feature, but one that can save even more power if you’re out for the day or away for the weekend.

Small Changes, Big Difference

When you understand how your Everhot works, you quickly realise it’s built to adapt to your life. You can use just the parts you need, heat it only when you’re cooking, and let ECO mode handle the rest. The result is a warm, welcoming kitchen with impressively low running costs.

And if you’re still exploring whether an Everhot is right for you, seeing one in person helps. At F & R Fornello’s showroom in Forest Row, East Sussex, you can see the full range of Everhot models in action, get expert advice, and learn more about features like the ECO mode and delay timer.

Where to Buy a Range Cooker Near London?

If you’ve been dreaming about upgrading your kitchen with a proper range cooker, you’re in good company. Across London and the South East, more homeowners are trading in standard ovens for something that looks beautiful, cooks brilliantly, and makes the kitchen feel like the heart of the home.

If you’ve been dreaming about upgrading your kitchen with a proper range cooker, you’re in good company. Across London and the South East, more homeowners are trading in standard ovens for something that looks beautiful, cooks brilliantly, and makes the kitchen feel like the heart of the home.

The only question is - where do you start with finding your perfect range cooker?

There are endless models online, but choosing a range cooker isn’t like buying a toaster. You need to see it, touch it, maybe even hear it tick as it warms. The difference between a good cooker and the right one for your home often comes down to how it feels in person.

The Best Range Cooker Brands to Consider

Alongside the classic Aga cooker, the three most popular brands we see London homeowners fall in love with are Everhot, Lacanche, and Bertazzoni.

Everhot

Made in Gloucestershire, Everhot cookers are electric, energy-efficient, and full of character. They’re designed to cook like an Aga, but with far more control and efficiency to help keep your energy costs down.

Everhot is ideal if you want traditional charm without sky-high running costs.

Lacanche

Handmade in Burgundy, France, Lacanche is the chef’s choice. These cookers are built for performance and precision, with options to combine gas, induction, and electric ovens. You can customise your setup, colours, and finishes - even the knobs and trims.

They’re incredibly sturdy, built to last a lifetime, and frankly, they look stunning in both country-style and modern kitchens.

Bertazzoni

For something with a touch of Italian flair, Bertazzoni cookers deliver contemporary design and reliability in equal measure. They heat quickly, come in sleek finishes, and suit busy London households that want style and practicality rolled into one.

Whether you lean towards heritage warmth or clean modern lines, these three brands are great alternatives to an Aga cooker and cover every taste.

Where to buy a range cooker near London

So, where’s the best place to find these cookers and get proper advice? One of the most trusted names just outside the city is F & R Fornello (that’s us!), based in Forest Row, East Sussex.

Unlike high-street chains or online-only retailers, we are dedicated range cooker specialists.

You’ll find dedicated displays from Everhot – including the latest Wi-Fi–enabled models, Lacanche and Bertazzoni.

It’s one of the few places near London where you can see all three brands side by side, in a calm, relaxed space where you’re free to explore.

Why bother visiting a showroom?

Buying a range cooker online might look convenient, but it’s a bit like buying a car without a test drive. Until you’ve stood in front of one, opened the doors, and visualised how it will look in your kitchen, it’s hard to tell what you’re really getting.

In a good showroom, you can:

  • See the quality up close - the enamel finish, the control dials, the detailing.

  • Get real advice from experts - not generic product descriptions.

  • Compare brands side by side, so you can spot what actually suits your home.

  • See live demonstrations: F & R Fornello regularly hosts live demonstrations where you can watch the cookers in action, ask questions, and pick up cooking tips.

Range cookers are built to last for decades. When you’re making any long-term investment, a little time exploring in person makes all the difference.

How to get there from London

Driving from central London takes roughly 1.5 hours, depending on traffic. F & R Fornello is located south of the M25, near East Grinstead, with easy access via the M23 or A22.

There’s free parking on site, and the showroom is open throughout the week for walk-ins, although booking an appointment means we can make your visit a more personal experience.

There are also good train links from London to the nearby town of East Grinstead – which is just a 7-minute taxi ride away from Forest Row.

If you’re coming from south or west London, it’s an easy route out of the city - and you can even stop for lunch in one of the nearby country pubs!

Let us Help you Find your Ideal Range Cooker

Buying a range cooker is a big decision, it’s something that could last in your family for generations - and it’s not one to make from behind a screen. Seeing them up close is the only way to know which one truly suits your kitchen.

So if you’re searching for where to buy a range cooker near London, take the short trip to F & R Fornello in Forest Row, East Sussex. You’ll get expert advice, see the latest models in person, and leave with a much clearer sense of what will work best in your home.

What are the Best Alternatives to an Aga cooker?

Looking for alternatives to an Aga cooker? Discover Everhot, Lacanche, Bertazzoni and Rayburn cookers with Fornello. Visit our East Sussex showroom to compare models.

For decades the Aga has been a kitchen icon. It’s warm, solid, and instantly recognisable. For many families, it has been the heart of the home. But here’s the thing: it’s not right for everyone. The running costs can be high, the fuel options limited, and not everyone wants background heat in July.

So what do you do if you like the idea of an Aga but not the reality? The good news is, there are plenty of alternatives to choose from, and they’re not poor imitations either. Some are even better suited to modern living.

Everhot 160i

Why look beyond the Aga?

It’s worth being honest about why people go looking for Aga alternatives.

  • Energy bills: A traditional fossil fuel Aga is always on. That’s lovely in winter, less so when the meter’s whirring.

  • Lifestyle: Some households need heat 24/7. Others just want a cooker when they’re actually cooking.

  • Style: Cast iron has charm, but not every kitchen wants a heritage look.

  • Cost: Even if you opt for a more modern electric Aga, any model wider than 90cm will cost over £10,000 to buy new!

If any of those ring true, then you’re in the right place.

Everhot – warmth without the guilt

Ask anyone who’s swapped their Aga for an Everhot and you’ll probably hear the same words: “It just works for modern life.”

  • Runs on electricity: Well-insulated and surprisingly efficient.

  • Flexible sizes: A neat 60cm for cottages or a full 160cm for busy family kitchens.

  • Smart features: You control the Everhot with Wi-Fi.

  • Eco bonus: Pair it with renewable energy and you’ve got a very green cooker.

But it’s not just about efficiency. Everhot is also a great cooking machine. Each model has ovens that bake beautifully, grills that heat quickly, and hobs that are easy to manage. Owners often say they love how predictable it is: no more waiting for a cooker to “settle,” just reliable heat when you need it.

It feels like the natural choice if you love the cosiness of an Aga but want something a little easier to live with day to day.

Lacanche – the cook’s dream

If constant background heat isn’t a must but serious cooking is, then Lacanche is the range to beat. These French beauties are built in Burgundy, in the same village where they’ve been produced for decades, and they’re often chosen by professional chefs.

  • Powerful and precise: Mix gas, induction, electric ovens, even a plancha.

  • Switch-on cooking: Unlike an Aga, you fire it up when you need it. That’s a big win for efficiency.

  • Custom look: More colours and trims than you’ll know what to do with.

  • Built to last: These things are made to be part of your kitchen for decades.

What really sets Lacanche apart is its flexibility during the buying process. You can configure it to your exact cooking style. Love roasting? Add an extra oven. Do a lot of stir-frying? Choose a wide gas hob with powerful burners. The level of personalisation is unmatched.

They’re also stunning to look at. With dozens of enamel finishes and trims, you can go classic cream and brass, or bold burgundy with chrome. It’s a cooker that makes a statement as much as it makes dinner.

Lacanche Vezelay

Bertazzoni – Italian flair

Not every kitchen wants a farmhouse feel. If you prefer something sharper, Bertazzoni could be right up your street.

  • Design-first: Sleek lines, bold colours, or cool stainless steel.

  • Fast and efficient: Perfect for busy households who don’t have time to wait.

  • Plenty of options: Various widths and fuel types mean there’s a model for most kitchens.

Bertazzoni ranges are known for their style, but they’re not all show. They’re highly responsive, easy to use, and versatile. For modern homes, especially open-plan ones where you don’t necessarily want a constant heat source, they tick a lot of boxes.

Bertzzoni Professional Cookers

Browse Bertazzoni

Rayburn – Aga’s close cousin

It would be wrong not to mention the Rayburn. It’s made by the same company as Aga, but with a twist.

  • Some models heat water and central heating as well as cooking.

  • Available in different fuels, from oil to electric.

  • Keeps that heritage look but adds more flexibility.

Rayburn is a good middle ground. It has the same aesthetic charm at a lower price-point:

How to decide which heat storage cooker is best for you?

So, how do you actually choose which heat storage cooker is best for you? Here are a few real-life questions to ask yourself:

  • Do I want a cooker that doubles as heating? If yes, then Aga or Rayburn still hold appeal. If not, look at Everhot, Lacanche, or Bertazzoni.

  • What’s my cooking style? Serious foodies might lean towards Lacanche. If you just want everyday ease, Everhot or Bertazzoni may suit better.

  • What about summer? Constant background heat is a joy in winter, but can feel oppressive in July. If that bothers you, pick a switch-on model.

  • What’s my budget? Aga alternatives vary widely in price. Everhot cookers in particular are excellent value for money if price is a big factor for you.

Answering these questions usually narrows things down pretty quickly.

Want to Replace your Aga? There’s Plenty of Options

The Aga will always be a classic, but it’s not the only option anymore. Everhot gives you warmth without the running costs. Lacanche is the cook’s choice, with power and customisation to spare. Bertazzoni blends style with practicality. Rayburn keeps it traditional but adds extra uses.

Want to know which one really fits your home? The easiest way is to see them side by side. At Fornello’s showroom in Forest Row, East Sussex, you can do exactly that. Touch the handles and get a proper sense of how each cooker works, we even offer range cooker demonstrations if you want to see the cookers in action. Get in touch with us today to see how we can help you find your Aga alternative.

Beetroot & Goat’s Cheese Tart Recipe

One of the perks of having live cooker models at our showroom is we are able to rustle up quick lunches, and one of our favourite at this time of year is a savoury tart or quiche. Many Everhot owners will know this but new owners or someone considering purchasing might like to know you don’t need to blind bake the pastry before hand. This makes things so much quicker and simpler, plus no soggy pastry bottom. Just one of the perks of cooking on an Everhot or other range cooker.

Using the base heat from the floor of the oven, you are able to cook the pastry at the same time as the filling. And we even use ready made pastry, why do more work than necessary, life’s to short.

We recently got to enjoy a delicious Beetroot & Goats Cheese Tart, with flaky golden pastry and a cheesy filling, freshly bake in our showroom Everhot 120i. We thought we would share the easy recipe.

BEETROOT & GOAT CHEESE TART

INGREDIENTS

  • 500g Fresh Beetroot

  • 1tbsp Olive Oil

  • Ready Roll Shortcrust Pastry

  • 4 Large Eggs

  • 300ml Double Cream

  • 175g Grated Extra Mature Cheddar Cheese

  • 150g Soft Goats Cheese

  • 20g Fresh Chives (Finely Chopped)

  • Seasoning

METHOD

  • Scrub the beetroots well with a vegetable brush under running water (no need to peel them at any point). Remove the tops and the root ends and cut into quarters. Drizzle with olive oil, season with salt and pepper. Roast for 35 to 40 minutes in the oven (Everhot oven set at 200 -210 degree, Roasting oven for an Aga). Tossing the beetroot halfway through roasting, and cook until you’re able to pierce through the beets with a fork with light pressure.

  • Whilst the beetroot is cooking, line a loose base flan tin with the shortcrust pastry, and leave to rest.

  • Once the beetroot is cooked and cooled, cut into smaller pieces (roughly 1.5cm in size) and sprinkle into the prepared tart case.

  • In a separate bowl whisk the eggs and cream together, then add the grated cheddar and chive and mix well. Season with salt and pepper and pour the mixture into the pastry case. Make sure to spread the cheddar cheese if needed.

  • Cut the goats cheese in the 2cm pieces and place on top of the tart filling. Bake until golden brown.

LOCATION IN OVEN & BAKING

  • Cook the tart until the filling and pastry are both golden brown. This can take anywhere from 30-50 minutes, so you will need to keep an eye on the tart while cooking.

  • EVERHOT - The tart should be bake on a shelf on the bottom of the oven. The oven set a 190 - 200 degrees.

  • If you are cooking the tart in an Aga, for traditional models bake on the floor of the Baking Oven or Roasting Oven ( Please Note: In the Roasting Oven the tart will cook quicker and you may need to use a cold plain shelf if the filling is cooking to quickly. For new Aga models with floor grid, cook the tart on the floor grid, not directly on the floor of the oven.

HELPFUL TIP

  • When removing the tart from the loose based flan dish, place on top of a can and the side will slip down, see video below.

We hope you enjoy this recipe as much we did here at Fornello. If you are interested in learning more about cooking on an Everhot or other range cooker, we host demonstrations regularly. These are a great way to learn helpful tips and recipes. Visit our demonstration page for upcoming events.

Everhot Essentials

The beauty of a Heat Storage Cooker is its functionality and the more you use them to their full potential the more you will see the benefits. Fornello is a family company and we strongly believe in the appliances we sell, as well as some handy accessories listed below:

Everhot Airer from Everhot Essentials

AIRERS

Even though the cookers have been designed to keep the heat in as much as possible, they’re still a warming comfort in your kitchen, so why not use the warmth to your advantage? An Airer is a great alternative to your tumble dryer and can also help with your ironing.

A Lid Airer will sit directly over the lid/s and with the heat radiating up from below will air your laundry. And if you fold it nicely once dried you will save time and money with having to do less ironing.

The Rail Airer option hooks neatly on the rail of the cooker making good use of the cooker’s radiant heat. With plenty of rails to air your washing and the ability to fold neat to make storage easier. This is a lovely product that is really practical! Just think of home much less you could be use it your tumble dryer and save money.

There is also a number of stove kettles that are suitable for the Hotplates and Induction Hobs. Why not check out the options Everhot have to offer.

TOASTER

There’s nothing better than tea and toast on lazy Sunday mornings. And in our opinion the Hotplates makes the best toast, it’s crispy on the outside and warm and fluffy within, delicious! A wire toaster can be used for many other things, cooling cakes, drying herbs on the warming plate, it’s very handy. If you still don’t have one, check out the Everhot cookware shop.

An Everhot or Aga makes the best toast on the hotplate.

Everhot Toaster on Everhot Hot Plate

TOASTIE MACHINE

At Fornello we are die hard cheese toastie lovers and an Everhot makes the best. All you need is the Simmer Plate and a piece of tin liner, plus there’s the bonus of no messy toastie machine on the work surface or in a cupboard.

Toasted sandwiches cooked on the Everhot, are simple and delicious.

Toasted Sandwiches ‘Toastie’

PANS

They aways say to use the right tool for the job, so why should it be any different when you are cooking, and the right pan can make all the difference. When cooking on an Everhot, it’s always good to cook as much as possible in the oven, it keeps the heat in the cooker and is even a easy way of cooking, so pans with detachable handles are always a good idea when possible.

The quality of the pan will also make a difference, a good solid, flat base will help conduct the heat better and give a more even cooking surface. There are many material options for pans and fry pan; Stainless Steel, Cast Iron, Copper and plenty more. Why not read Everything Kitchen’s guide to cookware.

At Fornello we are passionate about all our products, however the small but mighty Everhot Stove holds a special place in our heart. Our showroom Everhot Stove in the new Matt Black has kept the chill off the showroom this winter and has pride of place. As we are such devoted fans, we thought for this blog we would discuss this clever little heater.

Hand built in the heart of the Cotswolds the Everhot Electric Stoves integrates the Everhot expertise into an elegant and efficient stove featuring their unique oven design with cast iron door. EVERHOT HEATER

The Everhot Electric Heater brings a cosy charm to any room needing additional warmth, but without the oven. Its timeless design will emphasise an unused fireplace or bring character to the corner of a bedroom. Still featuring the Everhot traditional heavyweight steel and cast iron build, the Everhot Electric Heater is slightly lighter than the Stove model and, with a fixed door, is easier to move from room to room as needed.

There’s lots of information about the Everhot Stoves, and with this in mind we have answered questions customers normally ask, using information directly from Everhot.

New Year, New Cooker

With the arrival of the New Year, many of us have started to look at improving our health and wellbeing as a New Year’s resolution and one of the easiest way to achieve this is with what we eat and drink. January is the month of health eating and having the right appliance makes cooking a pleasure not a chore.

With the January’s cold and formidable weather, range cookers not only help keep you warm but can produces delicious hearty meals. With the cookers radiant heat food is kept moist and full of flavour, enabling owners to use less fats and oils. The cookers are designed to be on and ready for you to cook and mid week meals are made simple. Casseroles, stew, curries and lots more can be prepared in the morning before work and ready for when you return, allowing you more time to hunker down and snuggle up on the cold nights.

One of our favourite staff lunches at this time of year is the humble toasted sandwiches, simply cooker on the either the Everhot simmer plate. No extra butter is needed on the outside unlike most toastie machines, and the choices of filling are endless, everyone’s favourite at Fornello is the unassuming cheese & ham toastie but every sandwich tastes better when toasted. To amp up the goodness try a greens and gruyère toastie which is an indulgent mix of swiss chard, and gruyere cheese. https://www.olivemagazine.com/recipes/vegetarian/greens-and-gruyere-toastie/

A great way to see just how simple and healthier cooking on a heat storage cooker can be is attending one of our demonstrations/events coming up in the next few months. Our events page has lots of information on upcoming events.

If your cooking style is more last minute, thrown together and instant, the Lacanche and Bertazzoni range cookers will make things even easier. With their gas or induction hob options and built in grills, there is nothing you can’t rustle up. Healthy stir fry’s are very popular this time of year, and a doddle to cooker with a 5kW burner with wok trivets available on many of the models, you would also most feel you are cooking in a professional kitchen. With the Bertazzoni’s nearly endless oven functions, and the Lacanche’s many oven options, any meal can be simply prepared in no time at all. They are not just stylish but functional as well.

We always say, choosing the colour is the hardest part, but with all our models being so capable, we are starting to think choosing the model is, specifically with our January sales making it even more tempting to order.

The Making Of Fornello

When thinking about our first blog, we considered lots of ideas, like delicious bakes made in our showroom Everhot 120i, think heavenly Cheese Straws, gloriously decadent Brownies and towering Coffee & Walnut Vertical Layer Cake. After many ideas being bounced around, we thought talking about how we came to be was the best way to begin.

Back in June this year; after scouring for commercial property throughout Kent, Sussex and Surrey we had almost given up on the idea of opening our own showroom. But luck was on our side when we noticed a sign in the window of a little shop, in the heart of Forest Row. Some places just have magic, and as soon as we stepped into the shop one sunny evening, we fell in love with the space, it had so much light and the potential for making something truly special.

The final decision to take the leap was made over Gin & Tonics, because all good business plans are made whilst tipsy. We would like to say from this point on everything went smoothly and was an amazing experience, but all good things come with challenges along the way and this was no different.

On 31st July we got the keys, and by the 1st August walls were coming down. We are very lucky to have a builder in the family, who has years of experience building, maintaining, painting and decorating spaces, and is able to bring to life a clients vision, or in this case the vision of Fornello. From the beginning, we wanted the showroom to be inviting and welcoming, to feel like customers were stepping into a beautiful kitchen, the heart of any home. With this in mind, we decided to showcase most of the appliances in a beautiful handmade kitchen.

Showroom Before

The next tricky part was choosing the display models, how do you choose from all the beautiful models that Everhot, Lacanche or Bertazzoni are able to supply.

With our many years working with the Everhot range of cookers we knew exactly which of the exceptional models would work best for the showroom; an Everhot 120i in Cream to sit proudly in the centre of the showroom kitchen, with its simple elegance and extraordinary functionality its perfect for our main demonstration cooker. Along with an Everhot 100i in Graphite, as its one of the most desirable model sizes. An Everhot Stove now also greets customers and with its charming looks, customers and all of us at Fornello love it. Choosing the stove colour was the hardest part of the ordering process, but we are lucky enough to be one of the first to display the NEW Matt Black option, perfect for our showroom.

From the beginning Lacanche with their many model options was a perfect fit, we now have two beautiful models on display; a Lacanche Savigny 1105 in Ivory and a Lacanche Chablis 1405 in Slate Grey, both whispering French charm and classic beauty. Adding to the excitement of their arrival, it turns out you should always make sure you give the right contact number and not leave the keys for the showroom in a different car. Luckily Lacanche delivery team are very understanding.

We had previously worked with Everhot and Lacanche at Blades Heating Ltd, a well established cooker distributor, but throughout the inception of Fornello we knew we wanted to offer our customer as many options as possible. We had heard a lot about Bertazzoni over the years with a reputation of considered design, outstanding engineering and our display Bertazzoni Professional 90 Air-Tec is a beautiful addition to the family, with it’s built in extractor, it been a big hit with our customers.

As the months passed, the space slowly turned from a building site to a showroom and we were soon in the final week before we opened the doors. We had a showroom with cookers, but the space needed the extra things to bring it to life and add soul. The cavalry was called in, and the family pulled out all the stops, to help come to the rescue. Our family home is now empty of all the beautiful things that have been collected over the years, from framed art work to ceramic chickens, glass cloches and beautiful books. The showroom is a perfect vignette of our family home transported and lovingly displayed to give the showroom the soul and warm feel that we wanted from the start.

We spent that last week before opening flying around the countryside in a mad rush buying everything from plants to fancy eggs, because apparently you can’t have ordinary eggs for displaying in a vintage egg holder. Who knew? Moments of complete hilarity arrived unexpectedly, particularly found at 7:00am one morning watching the sensible sister in the family fall head first into a concrete trough planter that someone else (who shall not be named) insisted we needed for the showroom, we’ve never laughed so hard in our lives. Thankfully, she was no worse for wear other than bruised dignity. Thanks to a good friend and her muscle power, between us we got the mammoth of a planter safely to the showroom and it is now home to thriving Bamboo. GIRL POWER!

Our opening day has now come and gone and we have now settle into offering our customers the exceptional experience including ‘one to one’ appointments and demonstrations from our warm and wonderful showroom.
