Everhot Cooker Hoods: What Are the Options?
You spend months choosing the right Everhot. The colour, the model, the way it anchors the whole kitchen. Then a generic stainless hood goes up above it and the effect quietly collapses. A mismatched extractor is the fastest way to undo a beautiful range cooker aesthetic so it’s important to get right.
The Everhot cooker hood by Westin is built to prevent exactly that. It is designed individually for each Everhot model, hand-built in Britain, and matched to the exact width and colour of the cooker below it. However, there are a few real decisions to make, and getting them right first time saves you money, noise and second-guessing later.

Start with your cooker, not the hood
The first decision is half made for you, because Everhot models are named after their width in centimetres. Your cooker tells you the hood width you need.

Dual motor is available on the 120 and 150 models. A telescopic chimney is optional on all hoods.
Each hood is built to the exact dimensions of its matching range, so it sits flush and proportionate above the cooktop rather than floating too narrow or overhanging awkwardly. The depth is a consistent 300mm with a 450mm overall height, giving the large, vaulted fume catchment area that does the real work of pulling steam and smells away from the hob.
Power: single motor or dual
Every Everhot hood gives you three power levels plus an intensive setting, so you can nudge extraction up for a gentle simmer or open it right up when you are searing and the pan is smoking.
The bigger choice sits with two models only. Owners of the Everhot 120 and 150 can specify a dual motor. A second motor increases the power available and, just as importantly, spreads extraction evenly across the full width of a wide cooktop. On a 1500 that spread is the point, because a single motor working across nearly a metre and a half of surface has to pull hard at the edges to keep up. On a large range where you cook heavily, dual motor earns its place. On the 60 through 110, a single motor is the specification and is well matched to the width.
Ducted or recirculating cooker hoods: what’s the difference?
This is one of the most important choices when choosing your cooker hood, and the one that goes wrong most often.
A ducted hood removes cooking air from the kitchen entirely and pushes it outside. It is the more effective option, and Everhot are blunt about it: as a rule of thumb, extraction is always the best choice. For ducting to work well, your Everhot ideally sits against an outside wall. It can go on an internal wall or an island, but that takes far more planning to route the duct outside, so it is a conversation to have with your kitchen designer early rather than late.
A recirculating hood filters the air and returns it to the room. It is the answer when ducting outside is not practical, and here Everhot do something most hoods do not.
Expert Tip: Everhot's recirculation filters are regenerable, not disposable. You wash them in the dishwasher or by hand, then dry them in the oven to burn off the carbonised residue. No three-monthly carbon filter reorders.
That single detail flips the usual recirculation trade-off. Most recirculating hoods lock you into buying replacement carbon filters several times a year. Everhot's regenerate instead, so the cost is one-off rather than ongoing.
Colour and finish
The hood is matched to every colour in the Everhot range, around twenty shades from Black and Graphite through Marine Blue, Aubergine, Pillarbox Red and Sage to Cream and White. The custom paint finish is paired with a brushed stainless-steel edge, the same detailing that gives an Everhot its character.
If your kitchen calls for something off the standard palette, Westin will match almost any shade. Any RAL colour is available, and a bespoke colour match can be produced from a sample.
Chimney, controls and lighting
A telescopic chimney in a matching colour finish is optional on every hood, useful when you want to conceal the ducting run and carry the colour up the wall for a properly built-in look.
Controls are LCD touch, giving quick access to power and lighting without dials or greasy buttons. The lighting is dimmable LED that shifts from cool to warm, adjustable across roughly 3000K to 6000K.
Everhot Hood Duct Installation Tips
Two numbers decide whether your hood performs as designed:
The first is duct diameter. The Everhot by Westin needs a minimum 150mm duct, or two 150mm ducts on the twin-motor models. Narrowing it even slightly has a hugely detrimental effect on both extraction and noise. This is the most common installation mistake, and it is entirely avoidable if you flag it to your fitter up front.
The second is duct run. Standard and twin motors perform well over a straight run of up to 7 metres, or up to 5 metres with three bends (Westin). Longer or more complex than that, and it is worth Westin's advice before the layout is finalised.
Then there is noise. A single-motor hood runs at around 71dB on full power. In an open-plan kitchen where you also dine and socialise, that is worth planning around. You will rarely run it flat out, but factor it into where the cooker sits.
